We’re excited to announce the launch of a new website for HOPE – Helping Overcome Poverty’s Effects!
HOPE is a nonprofit anti-poverty organization based here in Addison County, Vermont. They operate a food shelf and offer all kinds of counseling and assistance for folks living on low-incomes or facing housing or other economic insecurity, as well as running a popular resale store.
The small team at HOPE had an aging self-hosted WordPress website that was difficult to maintain and update, and was challenging to use on mobile devices.
For this project, we migrated the WordPress website to Squarespace — an easy-to-use website builder platform, and focused on putting the information visitors need front and center in a website designed to be simple to navigate on mobile devices:
- Lots of images, so visitors know what to expect from the food shelf and other offerings.
- Location, directions, and hours easy to access.
- Integration with the Network for Good donation page for online giving.
Under the hood, the new website also loads significantly faster on mobile devices and is served over https with an SSL certificate in place, putting an end to those “insecure website” warning signs.
Blue Hills Digital partnered with HOPE to provide this website migration as part of our commitment to supporting the valuable work of nonprofit organizations furthering social, gender, economic and/or environmental justice.
Each year, we donate services to 501c3 nonprofit organizations in an amount that equals at least 10% of our projected annual revenue for the year.
