Creating a User-Friendly Web Presence for a Chicago Social Services Organization
Developing a new, user-friendly WordPress theme and administrative interface for a leading service provider for recently incarcerated individuals.
Saint Leonard’s Ministries is a respected provider of housing, education, and training services to individuals impacted by incarceration in Chicago, IL.
When we first worked together, the team at Saint Leonard’s had inherited a customized WordPress website that they did not have the resources or expertise to use or maintain. As a result, the agency was struggling to effectively communicate the value of their services online.
To solve twin challenges of usability for internal staff and effective external communication, I developed a new WordPress theme for Saint Leonard’s, utilizing widely used and easy to maintain components. We also extended WordPress to develop custom content types to power a Story Library, and to manage job postings and recruitment.
The website refresh also provided the opportunity to improve integrations with Little Green Light, the donor CRM and payment processor, and with Constant Contact.
