Interactive Maps for Nonprofit Websites
If your nonprofit organization has data or programming with a spatial component, interactive maps offer an engaging experience for visitors.
The examples on this page are examples of interactive maps built with different datasets (and different tools).
Heat map using county-level data
Hover over this heat map to reveal county names and data values.
Custom Content Type Map with Search & Filter
This map displays conservation projects, with data stored in a custom post type in WordPress. The map features live search and filtering, and data points click to open a preview panel, clickable to the individual project page. (The map is not interactive on this page, because the data is owned by the client organization! Click through to the TennGreen website to interact with the map.)
Point data within a US state
This map visualizes IRS data about nonprofit organizations located in Oregon. Points are sized by annual revenue, and clicking on a point reveals the organization name, EIN, and specific revenue amount.
